Job Summary:
The Senior Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, managing stock levels, coordinating inventory processes, and supporting operational efficiency within the warehouse or supply chain environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with inventory management systems to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of materials and products.
Essential Job Functions:
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels. Conduct inventory cycle counts, quarterly counts, and reconcile variances. Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies. To include all satellite warehouses.
- Receiving: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders. Update inventory records and systems to reflect new stock.
- Data Management: Input and update product information, quantities, and locations in the inventory management system. Generate and analyze reports related to inventory levels, stock movements, and turnover.
- Organization and Storage: Ensure proper organization and storage of inventory items. Implement efficient warehouse layout and product placement strategies.
- Quality Control: Monitor and report on the quality and condition of inventory items. Identify and address any issues related to damaged or expired goods.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales, logistics, and operations, to ensure smooth coordination of inventory-related activities. Communicate effectively with suppliers to address issues and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to inventory management. Participate in audits and assist in the resolution of any discrepancies.
- Parts Runner Coordination: Plan, schedule, and oversee the activities of the parts runner, including assigning daily routes, prioritizing urgent requests, and ensuring timely delivery of parts and materials. Communicate regularly with operations and inventory teams to adjust priorities and improve service levels.
Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required;
· 3–5+ years of inventory control, warehouse, or supply chain experience.
· Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
· Strong communication and leadership skills.
